James Badman has been raising animals his entire life. The Arizona native grew up in Tucson, and his background includes working with exotic animals. His wife, Kirsten, also has extensive experience with exotic wildlife. The couple have lived in Mesa for 14 years where they have a farm and are raising their two daughters.
In March 2007, the Badmans opened WildSide Pets in Mesa. The full-service exotic pet destination carries hundreds of species of birds, reptiles, fish, insects, tortoises and small mammals such as rabbits, hamsters and chinchillas. Animal lovers will also find a full range of supplies at WildSide. If you have a specific animal in mind but don’t see it on the website, call James and Kirsten, and they will do their best to track it down for you.
WildSide Pets is truly a labor of love and a family affair. James’ specialty is tortoises while Kirsten oversees the animal nursery where she bottle raises mammals and hand feeds baby birds. James and Kirsten care for each animal as if it were their own because they know that healthy and happy animals make for lifelong pets and friends. Stop by to meet the Badmans and let them help you choose a unique, life-enriching pet.
